Interior Design Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and creative Interior Design Assistant to join our team.

As an Interior Design Assistant, you will use not only your creative energy, but also your high attention to detail to help guide our clients in their selections, and work with clients to explain the products and choices they have for their project. A large part of your time will be spent answering phones and emails, getting answers for a prompt response to our clients. You will need to have a proficient working knowledge of Google Drive, Google Docs, email, and Microsoft Office products. You will also be responsible for communicating with clients and vendors via phone and email, supporting our installation teams and subcontractors with information about materials, specifications, architectural drawings, shipment of merchandise, and jobsite deliveries. Your ability to professionally communicate with your co-workers, vendors, contractors, tradespeople, and clients is very important, as is your technical knowledge of cabinetry, countertops, flooring, and your ability to read drawings such as floor plans and elevations.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to determine their design preferences, budget, and timeline
- Develop design concepts that align with the client's vision and functional requirements
- Create detailed floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings using software such as 2020, Sketchup, and Chief Architect
- Select furniture, fixtures, finishes, and materials that enhance the overall design concept
- Present design proposals to clients and make necessary revisions based on their feedback
- Coordinate with contractors, architects, and other professionals to ensure the smooth execution of the design project
- Oversee the installation of furniture, fixtures, and finishes to ensure they meet quality standards
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to project timelines and budgets

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of interior design principles and practices
- Proficiency in design software such as 2020, Sketchup, and Chief Architect
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members
- Knowledge of color theory and its application in interior design
- Experience in project management to ensure successful completion of design projects
- Familiarity with remodeling processes and techniques
- Sales skills to effectively communicate design concepts and secure client approvals
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and blueprints
- Understanding of contract documents related to interior design projects

A minimum of 4 years of related experience is required for this position. This can be a combination of education in interior design, architecture, or related fields, as well as on-the-job experience in the construction, remodeling or interior design fields.
